10-Day Final Project

My final Capstone project is a task and time management system designed for teams to quickly view task ownership and status within a project. Multiple team members can work on a single project or task while recording time to complete. This allows teams to see who worked on what features and how long it took which results in a quick hand-off to other developers who may continue the development. Project status is quickly determined by using data visualization which gives an overview of all task statuses.

I developed my capstone idea during my group projects as a way to help teams work together, develop team metrics and reduce overlapping and duplicate project work. This would help make teams more efficient as everyone can review current and previous task ownership, record how work was done, and understand team efficiency based on overall total project time. This project was developed using React, Chart.js, and a Django REST API.

Passion For Programming

My natural ability in problem solving and determination in seeing things through to completion have transitioned well into programming.  I look forward to a career in software development because it allows me to continuously learn new things and grow while also challenging myself which I find extremely rewarding.

A 10-day sprint that starts with each students’ idea. They are responsible for architecting this application, researching and learning any new languages or technologies to complete it, and build the final project. Since this is their crowning achievement during our course, instructors are very hands-off during the lifecycle of the development of their capstone.
