10-Day Final Project
My full stack capstone project (Dewey) is a social platform for creative writers and readers that encourages reading and sharing stories with other users. Dewey also includes a platform for participating in user-created book clubs.
Registered users can upload their stories or search through other uploaded stories with a search-by tool that filters stories by genre. Users can also participate in book clubs to expand their reading material or create their own club to their own preferences.
A flushed out profile page is available for every user that displays their uploaded stories, created clubs, clubs they are members of, and even stories they have favorited from fellow writers.
The technologies used to create Dewey are:
Python, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, Django REST Framework, React.js, Node.js, Bootstrap, Axios, MySQL, JSON Web Token.

Hire Me Because…
I have always thought of jobs more as learning experiences and ways to improve my skills and knowledge. I easily become passionate about the work I do, leading me to put 110% of my own body and soul into the task. I am someone who is dedicated that goes above and beyond the job at hand.
Passion For Programming
My passion for code began in high school out of boredom in Sociology class. Instead of writing notes on social norms I was going against the status quo and learning HTML5 and CSS3 online. This act of rebellion eventually led me to take a programming class offered later my senior year where I fell in love with the art of code and began my journey towards learning all I can.
Three Words About My Professional Qualities
Humility: I do not let pride get in the way of completing a task. If someone has more experience with a problem or task, I listen. If I need clarification on something, I ask. Feedback and advice is the only way to improve.
Diligent: When faced with a problem, I use all my skills and resources at hand to solve it.
Flexible: I am a person that prefers to be kept on my toes. Instead of being one cog with one purpose, I like to experience each part of the machine to understand better what is needed from each job. I am also someone who can work both independently or in a group setting.
Three Words That Describe The Best Role For Me
User-driven: When a project contains a user-involved aspect, I like to think from their point of view on how to improve their experience with a product.
Variety: I enjoy working on projects that range from difficulty to scale and allow me to use different skills for each one.
Community: Even though I have no preference for working independently or in a group setting, I like to create healthy relationships with my coworkers.
