10-Day Final Project

My capstone project, TacoDex, is a social media app built around finding the best tacos in your city. The app was designed to be a fun way to interact with your friends over food, connect with your favorite taco shops, and find new local shops to support. While jovial, the app is also very important for the businesses that register a TacoDex account. Shop owners can update their shop info, post notifications to all customers that follow them, and gauge customer satisfaction based on posts about their tacos and tacos average ratings.

To make this project more functional and user-friendly, I implemented Google Maps and Google Places APIs. The combination of these APIs allows for shop owners to register with accurate address information; that is then presented to users on a Google Maps component.

The technologies that I used to build this project include: C#, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, ReactJS, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Google Maps API, Google Places API

Hire Me Because…

I strive to better myself and those around me through hard work, communication, and a positive mindset.

Passion For Programming

At the start of the COVID-19 Quarantine, I began learning the basics of programming by taking online JavaScript courses. As I progressed through more difficult courses, I realized the possibilities with programming are endless and there are always ways to improve yourself as a developer. My passion stems from always wanting to improve.

Three Words About My Professional Qualities

  • Team-player – I want others to feel comfortable asking me for help and actively look for help out when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Growth– I enjoy learning and the process of bettering myself as a developer and as a person.
  • Curious – writing code that works is one thing, but I’ve always been interested in WHY. My curiosity has always led me to learn more.

Three Words That Describe The Best Role For Me

  • Collaborative – I want to be in a team that shares knowledge works together to finish the project.
  • Goal-oriented – having a specific goal that is set helps me focus on the task at hand.
  • Fun- Writing great software but also enjoying the team around me is important!

Watch My Capstone Presentation

A 10-day sprint that starts with each students’ idea. They are responsible for architecting this application, researching and learning any new languages or technologies to complete it, and build the final project. Since this is their crowning achievement during our course, instructors are very hands-off during the lifecycle of the development of their capstone.
